Medical & Surgical Treatment for Pets
At Fivelands we have some of the most comprehensive and up to date equipment in a non-referral veterinary practice in the West Midlands, along with the expertise to match.
We are able to perform a wide range of surgical procedures from routine neutering, suturing wounds to more complicated surgery such as fracture repair, lung lobe removal, ear surgery (TECA), cruciate ligament repair, MMP surgery, portosystemic shunt (PSS) diagnosis & surgery, eyelid correction (entropion & ectropion), corneal ulcer surgery, facelifts, dental extractions, thyroid gland removal, laparoscopic biopsy and many more. Please make an appointment to discuss with one of the vets if you think your pet needs surgery.
Occasionally we may feel it is appropriate for your pet’s surgery to be performed by a specialist and will recommend referral. If you are not able to afford specialist fees, we may still be able to perform the surgery ourselves.
In all cases we aim to give an accurate estimate of the likely costs, and the nature of the operation along with potential complications.
We are able to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, including thyroid disease, kidney problems, difficult skin cases, allergies (including allergy testing) and even provide cancer treatment with chemotherapy at the practice. For those patients who require more intensive treatment we have facilities to keep pets in the main surgery at Moseley overnight.
One of the vets, Christian Hughes, has an interest in behaviour, eye problems and in acupuncture and will see patients either current patients or on a referral basis from other practices for acupunture.
Chris Lancelott has a special interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging. Before becoming a Vet, he completed a degree in diagnostic imaging. He is currently completing a post graduate certificate in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
We also can provide behaviour advice and recommendations to suitably qualified and experienced pet behaviourists.
