This is a tour of the main surgery at Moseley which was fully refurbished in 2014 to a very high standard. This large surgery has been carefully planned and remodelled to ensure that every room is purpose built along with state of the art equipment. This ensures that your pet will be cared for with the highest standards by our experienced and dedicated team.
Our branch surgeries in Hall green and Yardley are also modern and boast excellent facilities, however very occasionally for more specialist treatment, we may need to transfer your pet to Moseley for further investigations as this is the largest surgery and contains all of our diagnostic facilities.
Please also watch our virtual tour with vet Christian Hughes and his dog Charlie.
You are most welcome to come and have a look around in person if you would like, all you need to do is give us a ring and arrange an appointment.
Our Moseley Practice
This has been a Veterinary practice for over 90 years, it may look old from the outside, but inside is very modern, light and airy. Our staff are very friendly and welcoming and will do their best to make you and your pets feel at home.
The waiting area is conveniently split into separate dog and cat areas to avoid any undue stress to your pet.
The pet shop
In our pet shop, we stock a wide range of products including toys, treats, grooming products, cages, leads, collars, harnesses and much more. Pet food is also available to order.
There are 4 consulting rooms some of which have tables that go up and down to save lifting large dogs. They also have cat weighing scales in each room.
We have a large dog kennels with a working area in the centre. There are both large and small cages available with a walk-in kennel area. There is a nurse working specifically in the dog kennels and cattery at all times to ensure that it is kept clean and that the animals within the hospital are monitored continuously.
This is a very busy part of the practice and this room has a lot of functions including anaesthetising animals before going into theatre, blood testing and dentals.
This is where all our operations take place. Whilst the animal is anaesthetised, our highly trained nurse will monitor throughout the operation using monitoring equipment to check heart rate and oxygen/carbon dioxide levels and correct temperature of the patient is maintained by our heated operating table.
This is where we take xrays with our digital xray scanner.
Ultrasound, endoscopy and ECG
This room may be small, but it is well equipped! Here we have our ECG machine which records the electrical activity of the heart, our endoscope which is a long, thin, flexible tube that has a light source and a video camera at one end, images of the inside of your body are relayed to a television screen, and our Ultrasound machine which uses sound waves to create images of organs and structures inside your body.
These machines are very specialised and help our Vets make decisions about which is the best treatment and course of action for your pet.
We have separate dog and cat isolation wards for any pets with contagious diseases. Again we have walk-in kennels for the dogs and glass fronted cages for the cats.
We have a large laundry area for laundry and sterilising the instruments ready for surgery. We also have a large bath in this room.
